Japanese Tree Lilac (Syringa reticulata) Bare Root

This rounded, sturdy, upright, tree reaches 20’ in height and 15-20’ in width.  Its compact, dense form, with ascending branches, makes it suitable for small spaces.  The leaves are dark green in summer with no fall color.  5-6” clusters of creamy white flowers appear in late June to early July, after the tree has leaved out.  The flowers are not as fragrant as those on the shrub lilac.
The Japanese Tree Lilac is adaptable to many soil types and compaction, and will tolerate alkaline soils.  They prefer well-drained soil and full sun for best flowering.  They are listed as moderately-low water use trees.
